The Plasa A-4290 chair harks back to classic cafe chairs, interpreting their form in a modern way. The bent backrest gives the structure a lightweight feel, and the balanced proportions emphasize the furniture's elegant character.

Made of beech wood, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern processing technologies. The contoured seat and backrest provide comfort, and the lightweight construction makes it easy to move. The design aimed to minimize the weight of the furniture while maintaining its durability and stability. Its stackability makes the Plasa A-4290 model practical and convenient to use.

The author of the design is Nikodem Szpunar, one of the most acclaimed young generation Polish designers, who combines artistic sensibility with a practical approach to form in his works. His designs, repeatedly awarded and presented at international exhibitions, are distinguished by a balance between aesthetics and function.

Designer: Nikodem Szpunar

Designer. He graduated from Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. His field of activity includes designing furniture and interior furnishings, both for industrial and short-series production. In addition to collaborating with industry, he also creates paintings using his own tools and projects at the intersection of art. His achievements include numerous awards, including in the Dobry Wzór, International Furniture Design Award (Asahikawa), Make me! and Must Have competitions. He was awarded the Designer of the Year 2019 title by Arena Design and Designer of the Year 2021 by the Institute of Industrial Design. His projects have been presented at international trade fairs, exhibitions and industry events in Berlin, Milan, London, New York, Hong Kong and Japan. He is a co-creator of the AlterEgo collection, awarded in the Dobry Design 2024 competition in the Best Polish Design category, for which he created ICHO-MIO and the PLASA chair. For Paged Meble, he also designed the PROP furniture family and the TUK collection.
