The Plasa A-4290 chair harks back to classic cafe chairs, reinterpreting their form in a modern way. The bent backrest gives the structure a lightweight feel, while balanced proportions emphasize the furniture's elegant character.


Made from beech wood, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern processing technologies. An upholstered seat pad enhances comfort. The contoured seat and backrest ensure comfort, and the lightweight construction makes it easy to move. The design aimed to minimize the furniture's weight while maintaining its durability and stability. Its stackability makes the Plasa A-4290 model practical and convenient to use.


The designer is Nikodem Szpunar, one of the most acclaimed Polish designers of the young generation, who combines artistic sensibility with a practical approach to form in his work. His designs, repeatedly awarded and presented at international exhibitions, are distinguished by a balance between aesthetics and function. It is also available with a plain seat and backrest.

Designer: Nikodem Szpunar

Designer. He graduated from Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. His field of activity includes designing furniture and interior fittings, both for industrial and short-series production. In addition to collaborating with the industry, he also creates paintings using proprietary tools and projects on the border of art. His achievements include numerous awards, including in the Dobry Wzór, International Furniture Design Award (Asahikawa), Make me! and Must Have competitions. He won the Designer of the Year 2019 title from Arena Design and Designer of the Year 2021 from the Institute of Industrial Design. His projects have been presented at international fairs, exhibitions and industry events in Berlin, Milan, London, New York, Hong Kong and Japan. He is the co-author of the AlterEgo collection, awarded in the Dobry Design 2024 competition in the Best Polish Design category, for which he created ICHO-MIO and the PLASA chair. For Paged Meble, he also designed the PROP furniture family and the TUK collection.
