La Benda B-2961 Seat Uph Back Uph

The La Benda B-2961 armchair combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. It was made from beech wood (plywood seat and backrest, solid wood for other elements) using steam and pressure bending technology – a method developed in the 19th century and still used today in our factory in Jasienica.

The delicately bent beech frame creates one continuous line – from the front legs, through the armrests, to the backrest – and contrasts with the straight back legs. The upholstered seat and backrest increase comfort of use, while maintaining a light and elegant character of the form.

The designer is Pedro Salgado, a Portuguese designer and graduate of Escola Superior de Artes e Design in Porto, who combines a passion for traditional techniques with a modern approach to form in his work. The La Benda armchair reflects his sensitivity to detail, proportions, and the emotions a piece of furniture can evoke.

The La Benda B-2961 model is perfect for home dining rooms and living rooms, as well as commercial spaces: cafes, restaurants, or hotel lobbies. Thanks to its lightweight yet durable construction, it is both aesthetic and practical, and can be easily stacked. It is also available in a version with a smooth seat and backrest.
