Aria B-5300 Wood Back Panel Base Wood

Aria B-5300 Wood Back Panel Base Wood

The Aria B-5300 Wood Back Panel Base Wood chair combines the comfort of an upholstered seat with the natural expression of wood. The soft, embracing shape ensures user comfort, while the characteristic cutout in the backrest line gives the form lightness and a recognizable character. The external backrest panel, made of wood, introduces material contrast and emphasizes refined detailing. The wooden base completes the ensemble, providing stability and visual cohesion.

Aria is a collection designed with diverse spaces in mind. Thanks to many backrest finish variants – from fully upholstered, through versions with a wooden panel, to hybrid solutions – chairs from this series can be easily adapted to both home interiors and restaurant or hotel spaces. These are pieces of furniture that combine comfort with a distinctive, contemporary aesthetic.

The project was authored by Dario Polaco, who in the Aria collection combines a soft, organic line with a distinct structural accent. His approach to design is based on building form through detail and proportion, giving the furniture an individual, recognizable character.

Designer: Dario Polaco

Born in Argentina in 1981, he graduated in industrial design from the University of Buenos Aires. From the earliest years of his career, he had the opportunity to work on the design of a wide variety of products, such as home appliances, medical equipment, kitchenware, sportswear, and many others. This multifaceted experience provided him with extensive knowledge in the use of various materials and production techniques. However, it was only furniture design that allowed him to fully unleash his creativity and develop a distinctive design language. His approach to design appears disobedient, questioning established archetypes and pushing the boundaries of material possibilities to achieve unexpected results. His work has won numerous awards for innovation, including the Good Design 2016 distinction from the Argentine Ministry of Production, Best Design Project 2011 awarded by Innovadores de América, Best Innovative Entrepreneurship 2009 from Empretec, and the 1st prize in industrial design in 2010 and 2008 as part of INNOVAR (Argentina’s National Innovation Award). His projects have also been exhibited in prestigious art museums in Argentina. He is considered one of the most promising Latin American designers.
