Tomek Rygalik
He is a designer, lecturer, curator, and doctor of art. He was born in Łódź in 1976 and studied architecture at the Łódź University of Technology. In 1999, he graduated from the industrial design department at Pratt Institute in New York. After graduation, he collaborated with many renowned design firms in the United States, serving clients such as Kodak, Polaroid, MTV, PerkinElmer, Dentsply, and Unilever, Dupont.
After earning his master's degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 2005, he joined the R&D team at RCA. During the same period, he established his own design studio, with offices in both London and Łódź. Since 2008, he has been leading a design studio at the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and in 2009, he permanently moved to Warsaw. Since 2012, he has been co-head of Studio Rygalik, which he co-founded with his partner, designer Gosia Rygalik.
His extensive collaborations include projects for recognized brands such as Moroso, Noti, Profim, Ideal Standard, Siemens, Heineken, and Ikea. He served as creative director for leading Polish furniture brands, including Comforty and Paged. He undertakes numerous projects for cultural institutions, including the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Grand Theatre – National Opera, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, BOZAR, Zachęta, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum, the National Museum, and the Polish Cultural Institutes. In 2011, he served as the architect for the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU. For Paged, he created many collections, including LOF, BENKO, and K2.
