Jakub Szczęsny
He is the first Polish architect whose project – Keret House – has been included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He designs unique single-family homes, as well as prefabrication systems for brands such as Simple House, FreeDOM Houses, and Moja Stodoła. His practice emphasizes the intersection of architecture and art, designing installations for public spaces worldwide.
He is also committed to popularizing architecture by writing screenplays for TV programs such as "Polska dobrze zaprojektowana" (Well-Designed Poland) (TVN), "Stadiony atakują" (Stadiums Attack) (Domo+), and appearing in sponsored content programs, such as "Design dream" for IKEA (Polsat). He is a visiting lecturer at foreign universities, including GSAPP, FAU, and Bezalel School of Architecture, and teaches at the Faculty of Architecture of Warsaw University of Technology. He is the author and originator of the AlterEgo collection, for which he invited 10 Polish designers, product designers, and interior architects to contribute. The collection won the Best Polish Design award in the Dobry Design 2024 competition.
